What is Facial redness?

Facial redness occurs as a result of dilation of cutaneous blood and increased blood flow to the skin. There are a number of skin concerns that may be causing facial redness, these include Rosacea, Lupus, Dermatitis, spider veins to name a view. Correct assessment and diagnosis is required for effective treatment to be prescribed. One of the common reasons is due to a condition called Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea, a subtype of Rosacea, this facial redness is usually associated with dilated vessels, flushing and blushing, persistent redness and skin sensitivity.

    Facial redness can be caused by a number of factors that result in inflammation and dilation of the underlying vessels leading to an increase of blood flow to the skins surface.     There is always a possibility that facial redness may return following treatment if you have a genetic predisposition or underlying skin conditions are not continued to be managed effectively.
