Restylane skin boosters are an innovative treatment to improve your skin condition by delivering deep hydration to give a long lasting improvement to the overall quality of the skin resulting in an increased glow and radiance.

The treatment will involve multiple micro injections of a long lasting hyaluronic acid (HA). HA is naturally found within the skin, it is a water loving substance that will attract and bind to water, leading to an increase in the levels of deep skin hydration. This will give the treated areas an improved firmness, elasticity and smoothness with a wonderful outward radiance.

Whilst traditional skin care products applied to the skin can be easily washed or worn off, Restylane Skinboosters will hold the hydration deep within the dermal layer and it is therefore able to improve the skin hydration, elasticity and smoothness.

Restylane skin boosters are a versatile treatment option as they can be used as a stand-alone treatment or alternatively they will complement other aesthetic treatments. Restylane skin boosters can be used to progressively improve the skin quality prior to other aesthetic treatments been performed.

Restylane products as used by Staffordshire Skin & Laser Clinic have been extensively researched and investigated. They have been used in over 30 million aesthetic treatments worldwide for over two decades. As with any treatment that involves injections there is always the potential risk of bruising or swelling, however this is very temporary. Any potential side effects will always be discussed at consultation.

For optimal results we advise our patients to start with a course of 3 treatments at 2-4 weekly intervals. We would recommend a regular maintenance treatment approximately every 6 months.

Results are progressive. Subtle, natural looking changes and a new found radiaence to your skin will occur gradually over the course of your treatment. Improvements to your skin condition can last for up to 12 months after the initial treatment.

Treatment with Restylane Skinboosters will depend on the areas and indication to be treated. Treatment times can vary from 15 to 45 minutes.

At Staffordshire Skin and Laser Clinic Your Nurse practitioner will always carry out a thorough medical consultation prior to any procedure to ensure your suitability and to reduce the risk of any unwanted side effects. A full assessment of your skin, concerns and expectations will be carried out and our nurse will discuss if this procedure is suitable to meet your treatment expectations.

Treatment may feel slightly uncomfortable. A topical aesthetic cream is applied to the area to ensure your comfort during treatment.

Prior to treatment you will have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have, and once completely satisfied this is the right treatment for you a consent form will be signed. All make up will be removed and the skin cleaned. Photographs of the treatment area are taken to enable us to review the effectiveness of treatment. If there are any active skin infections, cold sores or you are generally unwell treatment will not be administered and will be rescheduled for a later date. If you feel that you need to discuss any illnesses or medications we ask you to contact the clinic prior to your appointment.

Immediately post treatment there may be some swelling, redness or mild bruising, which may become more apparent over the next 24-48 hours. Despite this you are still able to carry on with normal activities, camouflage make up can be applied in clinic if you would like to conceal the treatment area. Further advice post treatment is as follows:

• Avoid sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms and extremes of cold or heat for 2 weeks post treatment to reduce the risk of sswelling.

• Avoid make up for 12 hours (post treatment camouflage can be applied in clinic if required).

• Ice pack and cold compresses can be beneficial for reducing swelling.
• Arnica cream can be helpful in clearing bruising.
• Over the counter medications to reduce swelling include ibuprofen and anti-histamines can also be beneficial if able to take.

A review appointment is always scheduled 2-3 weeks after your final treatment to ensure you are happy with your results.
