Crystal Clear Microdermabrasion performs 3 main actions:

• Correction: As the flow of crystals directly impinge on the skin the abrasive nature leads to an exfoliation of the skin layer by layer. As smoother, fresher skin emerges it does so without the surface irregularities.
• Stimulation: A combination of abrasion and vacuum action stimulates micro-circulation. Increasing the skins blood supply providing t with increase nutrients required for the stimulation for fibroblasts required for collagen regeneration.
• Isometric Exercise: The vacuum function alone can be used to stimulate facial muscles resulting in an immediate lifting effect to the upper brow, cheekbone ad jaw line. This also directly impacts on the lymphatic drainage, allowing for increase removal of toxins and waste products.

Prior to treatment the skin is cleansed ready for treatment. A hand piece is placed directly onto the skin which will release a flow of crystals. The speed of the crystals together with their abrasive nature will gently exfoliate and remove the epidermal skin cells layer by layer. The dead skin cells that are removed are drawn away through the vacuum action. If you chose to have a deluxe Crystal Clear MDA your procedure not only will we tackle line/wrinkles a dull complexion the treatment will also involve a stimulating lift procedure finished off with a Mini Lift Mask.

Prior to any treatment at Staffordshire Skin & Laser Clinic a full medical consultation and assessment will be carried out with our nurse practitioner/aesthetician. This will enable us to determine that there are no treatment contraindications. Most people are suitable for treatment as there are few contraindications, however it’s always best to assess.

A standard MDA appointment will take approximately 30 min. If you opt for a deluxe MDA you will be in clinic for around 45 minutes.

For optimal results we recommend a course of 10-20 weekly treatments if you want to tackle concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles pigmentation or you have skin conditions such as milia. A progressive week by week treatment will allow us to gradually penetrate deeper with in the skin. We recommend that once your skin is in optimal condition in order to maintain the effects we would recommend maintenance treatment every 4-6 weekly. Alternatively if you just want to give your skin a pre party boost then a one of session will do just that.

As treatment is progressive as opposed to aggressive treatment is very safe. You may experience some mild redness immediately post treatment, however this will usually settle very quickly.
